"Clothes can suggest, persuade, connote, insinuate, or indeed lie, and apply subtle pressure while their wearer is speaking frankly and straightforwardly of other matters."

Fall, 2009
Fall is upon us. And if I could offer you up a single inspirational thought about fall fashion I would conjure up an image of the brook trout. This fall, gentlemen will be wearing the muted browns and beiges of a shaded pool in the sort of mountain stream where an appropriately placed fly entices the coveted brook trout. But like the brook trout, don't be afraid to show a dash of color. Cerulean blues play well beside bright golds. Yet the full range of those colors is in - stolid slate-blues, browns across the board, golds ranging from Spanish bullion to butter. Stick with stripes, pin dots in your ties and pocket squares, strong symmetrical patterns - geometric paisleys, plaids and squares. Think of it this way. let your suit be like the back of the trout - something sleek, conservative and subdued. But don't be afraid to flash a little color when going for the strike.
